The third Sawdust Brothers album is a road trip across a vanished American radio-scape, like driving from California to Tennessee in a 1967 Dodge Polara with your AM radio tuned to "Surprise Me". Or maybe if there had been an Austin, Nashville & Bakersfield railroad that stopped in Louisiana along the way. The Sawdust Brothers (Ryan Murphey, Johnny Dowers, David E. Lane) come by all this honestly, growing up in Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee before stretching their legs toward New Mexico and California. The songs are refreshingly simple and surprisingly complex, and the sound is organic and expressive. So hop in- there's always room for one more.
